Say It Isn't So!

We are bummed. Really freakin’ bummed. Why? Because summer is almost officially over and for many of us this traditionally means your bikinis have to find a home in your closet for the winter. If you don't live in Florida, the Caribbean, or any other sub-tropical climate the day you have most likely been dreading is almost here. Whatever will you do? Don't start packing away your suits just yet. The good news is, just because summer is coming to an end there are still great ways to transition your favorite suits into your fall wardrobe. Try wearing your favorite bandeau top under a long sleeve button up shirt or underneath your favorite denim jacket along with a high waisted skirt or pants. Add a pop of color to your fall outfits with a triangle bikini top layered with a crochet tank or pullover. Looking for a little more coverage take your one-piece suit out for a spin under a great pair of jeans and layer with an open jacket.

Loving the idea of keeping your swimwear in rotation all year round? Then we have even more good news for you. Use the coupon code: LABORDAY to take an extra 15% off sale items. Shop great wardrobe staples like the styles below and more HERE

So don't cry that summer is coming to an end, get excited because fall is on its way!

Designer Spotlight: DESPI

With so many great swimwear collections out there it's sometimes hard to stand out in a crowd. Somehow Brazilian designer Despina Filios has not only managed to stand out, but stands heads above the rest.  Despi launched in 2007 and has been taking the world by storm. Her suits have been featured in some of the top fashion magazines around the world. Inspired by the vibrant life in Rio de Janeiro her collections reflect the color, style, and patterns that make Despi one of a kind. They are known for their playful, flirty and sophisticated style with exaggerated detail and embellishments such as leather, stones, crystal and beading.

One of the things that Despi's loyal customers love about the brand is the coverage options they provide. Their suits come in both Full and Brazilian cut which really caters to the demands for a variety of options when it comes to coverage.

With such a wide variety of cuts and styles picking just one suit from their newest collection may be hard to do. So if you are struggling to decide I say buy them all! But let's just say that you are looking for one great option for now, I would definitely take a look at the amazing selection of one-pieces in this year's 2015 line. From sweetheart necklines, cut-outs and amazing patterns and embellishments these one-pieces will have you looking stunning all summer long.

For us here at AWB Despi will always hold a special place in our hearts as it was the very first brand that we carried oh so many years ago. It has been amazing for us to watch their stylistic journey and to see their line evolve and change just as we have over the years. So enjoy a sneak peak of some of our new favorites from Despi 2015 and see why they are definitely a Designer to Love!

Celebrity Trend Alert: Bandeau Bikinis

What do Selena, Ashley, Kate and Rachel all have in common? Their love of the bandeau bikini and the fact that they all looking amazing in them! The bandeau works for a variety of body shapes which is what makes it one of the more popular suit styles. For pear shapes the bandeau top helps to create a more hourglass figure and helps to even out your bottom half by drawing the attention up to the top. For hourglass figures this style of suit really helps to accentuate your curvy figure and draws attention to your slim waist. For rectangle shapes, similar to the pear, this style of suit creates the illusion of a curvy figure by drawing the eye to your top and bottom. Apples are the hardest to fit for the bandeau top as traditionally they have a larger chest with a proportionately smaller bottom half. Fret not as there are still plenty of options for you. Apples need to pay close attention when shopping for tops to find one that offers enough support to keep the girls in place. Stick to options that have side boning, underwear and removable padding so that you are always fully supported and the top is adjustable to suit your individual needs. So whether you are like Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale and like bright bold solids or you want to try out something like Kate Bosworth and Rachel Bilson in fun festive prints the bandeau is a fresh young style that is just begging to be worn!

Bikini Outfit of the Day: Surf's Up:

I hate to even say it out loud but the end of summer is coming all too soon. With that thought lingering in the back of our minds there is no time left to waste. If you haven't already tried one of the many water activities that make summer great, such as surfing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, or snorkeling, it's not too late. Get out there and try any/all of these amazing ways to spend the day in the water. They are all great ways to explore, exercise and enjoy a bit of adventure.

Most of these activities range from mild to incredibly active so finding the proper suit is important. We always like to find the perfect balance between functional and fashionable when it comes to swimwear. With so many great brands creating their own line of active swimwear finding the right suit for you has never been easier. For our bikini outfit of the day we've selected a bikini and rash guard from Luli Fama's 2015 collection. The rash guard is functional and provides coverage from the sun. The mesh inserts in contrasting colors really help to make this garment pop. Paired with full coverage hipster bottoms which are great for staying in place while in motion. The same mesh inserts can be found on the bottoms which give a sexy touch to a simple design. We paired our outfit with classic staples for anyone out and about in the water. An easy, carefree backpack is a great way to carry all of your necessities including sunscreen, water and a change of clothes. The black board shorts work great with the mint and black rash guard and have a pop of color in the drawstring. We finished off the look with classic flip flops, waterproof watch, sport sunglasses, and a woven bracelet.

Now that we have all of our supplies it's time to hit the water!

The Many Bikinis of Jennifer Aniston

With an amazing body like Jennifer Aniston's it's hard to believe that she would ever have a a hard time finding the perfect suit. It is my personal belief that despite all that I have been told, that she is possibly the one exception to the rule that not everyone looks good in everything. When it comes to Jen I am a firm believer that she can wear/do no wrong. But I digress. Let's assume just for now that she is merely a human, with flaws and insecurities of her own like most women when it comes to wearing a bathing suit. Jennifer Aniston finds what works for her and sticks with it. She falls into the pear shape body type as she has a slightly larger bottom half compared to the rest of her body. She tends to wear suits that provide support in the chest, such as triangle tops. By doing this it helps to draw attention to the chest and creates a more proportionate appearance. When it comes to bottom styles her preference ranges from moderate to brazilian coverage. This may be a little too skimpy for some pears so try out a full bottom with side ties for more adjustability.

The best part about Jen's bathing suit style is that she doesn't take her self too seriously. She likes to play around with bright, fun colors and really enjoys spending time in the sun!
