The Many Bikinis of Jennifer Aniston

With an amazing body like Jennifer Aniston's it's hard to believe that she would ever have a a hard time finding the perfect suit. It is my personal belief that despite all that I have been told, that she is possibly the one exception to the rule that not everyone looks good in everything. When it comes to Jen I am a firm believer that she can wear/do no wrong. But I digress. Let's assume just for now that she is merely a human, with flaws and insecurities of her own like most women when it comes to wearing a bathing suit. Jennifer Aniston finds what works for her and sticks with it. She falls into the pear shape body type as she has a slightly larger bottom half compared to the rest of her body. She tends to wear suits that provide support in the chest, such as triangle tops. By doing this it helps to draw attention to the chest and creates a more proportionate appearance. When it comes to bottom styles her preference ranges from moderate to brazilian coverage. This may be a little too skimpy for some pears so try out a full bottom with side ties for more adjustability.

The best part about Jen's bathing suit style is that she doesn't take her self too seriously. She likes to play around with bright, fun colors and really enjoys spending time in the sun!

The Many Bikinis of Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad first stepped into the spotlight when she was cast in the reality TV show Laguna Beach and later in the spin-off series The Hills. As of late, however Lauren has quickly become known as a major heavy weight in the fashion industry. One of her first steps into the world of fashion was working with Kohl's to launch the clothing line LC Lauren Conrad in 2009. In 2011 she went on to create her Paper Crown line which caters towards a more upscale fashion forward audience.

From writing books to making guest appearances she does it all. But what impresses us, here at AWB, most of all is how she can juggle her growing career and still find time to keep herself in bikini ready shape everyday. LC is known for her amazing body and she isn't afraid to show it. When she isn't hard at work she finds time to enjoy herself out in the sun. What does a fashionable sun worshiper such as herself need plenty of…bikinis! And she sure has a collection. She knows exactly what styles work for her and sticks with them. Since she is a pear shape, bandeau tops look great on her by creating a larger bust and balancing out her bottom half. Her other go to suit is the triangle top bikini. This works for her because the top provides support and the string bottoms allow for adjustability but don't draw any extra attention to the lower half. Leave it to LC to look fresh and fashionable even at the beach.

Straight From the Runway: Monokini Madness

Caitlin Kelly Swimwear, Aquarella Swimwear, Gottex, Aquaclara
One of our favorite runway trends at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim 2014 in Miami were monokinis. The monokini was originally designed as a topless one piece suit with a wide array of cutouts. Some styles have side or front cutouts or a combination of both. Others have sheer fabric connecting the top piece to the bottom, and some even wrap the fabric around in a unique design to create gaps and openings. Another great feature we loved seeing on the runway was all of the vivid colors, fresh prints, and amazing hardware.

There is a monokini for practically all body shapes. Most are best suited for hourglass figures as they provide additional support at the bust and show off a slim waist with cutouts along the side. Apples and fuller figured shapes may want to look for styles with more coverage around the waist and look more for plunging neckline cutouts. Pears want to look for suits with more detailing along the top half to draw the eye up and create a more proportionate appearance. Lastly, rectangles want to look for styles that create a well defined waist line. Look for suits with side cutouts or ones that have wrap around detailing around the waist. With so many options it's no surprise that the monokini has quickly become the perfect summer must have!

The Best Suit For Your Shape: Rectangle

So you think you might be a rectangle? Fret not as you are in great company. Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Portman and Nicole Kidman are just a few of the many celebrities who have traditional rectangle body shapes.

Rectangles generally are the same width on the top and bottom. The appearance of the rectangle comes into play as the waist is often not well defined. Defining one's waist is the best tip for all rectangles to keep in mind. By doing so it helps to create the illusion of an hourglass figure.

Look for one-piece suits that cinch or have vertical or diagonal stripes at the waist. When shopping for bikinis stick to tops that provide additional support. Unlike many other shapes rectangles can draw attention to their top section. Feel free to try florals, prints, ruffles and fringe. When it comes to the bottoms, side ties can be your best friend. They are the most flattering and their adjustability allows you to further cinch your waist as needed.

The Best Suits for your Shape: Apple

Apples are generally known for carrying the bulk of their weight in their chest and mid section. This is defined as your waist being wider than your hips and usually about as wide as your bust. This rounded upper body is what gives this body type the apple shape. Some of our favorite celebrities fall into this body shape such as Elizabeth Hurley, Jessica Simpson, and Tyra Banks.
The same challenges that apply when finding clothes to fit your shape also occur when trying to find your perfect bathing suit.  With a few quick tips you can easily hide your problem areas and accentuate the positives. The best advice for all Apples is to enhance the chest and legs and try to minimize the midsection. The best way to down play your belly is by trying a one-piece suit with ruching along the midsection or center to give the illusion of a longer, slimmer torso. If bikinis are your preference look for bottoms with adjustable bands across the waist to help avoid muffin tops. Try deep v-cut tops such as halters and triangles which help flatter and support a larger bust while drawing the eyes attention away from your midsection. Also look to higher cut bottoms that help elongate your slim legs. Being an Apple shape should never stop you from looking your best. With these quick and easy tips finding the perfect suit for you is just a click away!

Tummy Control -

THE CHALLENGE:
We all have had it a some point, a little more around the middle than we are happy with, not to worry there is hope.
