Our Favorite Looks from Runways of 2012 Mercedes Benz Swim Fashion Week

This weekend the Raleigh Hotel in South Beach became the epicenter of swim fashion for the 7th season of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim. Over 30 of the hottest swimwear designers showcased their collections for editors, celebs, stylists and buyers. All Wet Beachwear attended all the best shows and scanned the runways for new styles to offer our clients for 2012. Here are a few of our favorites:

Designers like Cia Maritima, Luli Fama, LSpace and RYGY have added elements like cut outs, bows and ties, and deep-v necklines which not only look beautiful but also attract and hold the eye, focusing attention away from problem areas like the tummy. D and DD Cup Swimwear that is Fashionable and Flattering

 

This summer you don't have to sacrifice fashion for comfort. There are some new pieces available that look great and provide the fit and support that us with D and DD cups need. Case and point, this new two piece from LSpace,  the Limpopo Reversible Halter & Orange Foxy Tab bottom. It comes in with a hot animal print top which reverses to solid orange. Orange is one of the hottest trends for Summer 2011. In addition to being reversible, the top is adjustable. It has a gold slider detail which can be adjusted to your exact cup size. The wide halter straps provide comfort and support. This top is available is available in size Large (D) and DD cup size. 

 

The Despi Copacabana Bikini in Black has an adjustable top as well and fits up to a D cup. It also comes in a chocolate brown and a rich blue color.

Summer 2011 Swimwear Trends

ANIMAL PRINTS:
Animal prints are a girl's best friend and this season is no exception. Sexy tiger print bikinis, chic python print and flirty leopard prints a the ways to go for Summer 2011. Kourtney Kardashian as been spotted recently in this tiger print bikini by Cia Maritima. Cool silver and white python print pieces are stunning. Leopard is a must-have as well.

LITTLE WHITE BIKINI:
Everyone should have at least 1 white bikini. They are classic, alluring and show off your tan. Designer swimwear is made with quality, triple lined materials to block any show through when wet so you can wear white without fear! Kim Kardashian's hot white two piece for Beach Bunny is a already a hit. This off-white bandeau from Despi has a more demure sexiness. 

CUT OUTS:
Carefully positioned cut outs are great problem solvers and turn a traditional one piece into a fashion statement. Side cut outs mimic an hour-glass shape and create the illusion of curves, great for boyish shapes.  Symmetric and Asymmetric cut out styles will break up long lines, perfect if you a have a long torso. A deep V neckline will draw the eye up and away from problem areas.

FRINGE:

We recommend bringing one white swimsuit. A white swimsuit looks beautiful on everyone and stunning on the sand. In addition, bring one stay-put swimsuit for your more active days in the water. There are a huge variety of fashionable one-pieces this summer. Or if you prefer a bikini, choose one with wide halter straps to prevent any wardrobe malfunctions while snorkeling or frolicking in the waves. The final must-have is a more daring, eye-catching swimsuit in a bright print or with jewelry accents. This high impact swimsuit will be especially necessary if you are travelling in the Caribbean where there are often beach parties an you will want to suit up and stand out.

This Summer's Sun Hats = Fashion + Function

Hats make a stylish statement and after this popular accessory's recent exposure at the Royal Wedding and Kentucky Derby, the hat trend is here to stay for summer 2011.  

Hats serve both fashion and function:

• A 3 inch brim can block the direct UV rays to the sides of the face and ears.
• Brims that curve down and sit closer to the face will provide the best protection.
• Sun hats that have white tops will reflect heat. 
• A khaki, beige, grey or off-white hat is easy to keep clean.
