2016 RESORTWEAR: BEACH AND BEYOND WEAR!

Resort-wear is the largest growing product selection in the swimwear industry and we thought it was important to tell you why?

What is Resort-wear? Clothing worn while traveling and on vacation, especially in warm weather climates. It began as a fashion trend for elites and socialites and evolved into accessible wear for everyone. High end boutiques, department stores, and designers all marketed resort wear as easy to pack, lightweight, and comfortable clothes to wear while vacationing in the tropics.

When selecting the perfect swimsuit that is truly only half the battle. Completing the look with your favorite cover-up is the ultimate goal. Resort-wear encompasses the must have pieces needed on any vacation, so whether its rompers, jumpers, caftans, kimonos, dresses, tunics, pants and shorts you are sure to be on the hunt for your fav in 2016.

The Perfect Pair: Pretty Polishes to match our Newest Beachwear

When your hitting the beach, a mani and pedi are not optional (unfortunately). So here are a few cute polish pairings suggestions for some of our newest swimwear and cover-ups.

Cia Maritima's One Shoulder Snake One Piece is one of the hottest one pieces we have seen... ever! Celebrate the beautiful teals and greens in the print by wearing a similar shade of polish like "Fly" from Nikki Minaj's new collection for Opi, a teal shade that is a perfect match to the greens in the suit.

This LSpace Dolly Fringe Bandeau in Blue Iris and Foxy Tab Bikini is full of popping color. Essie's "Wife Goes On" a punchy pink with a hint of coral works just right with this pair.

We found an purpley-fuchsia that is an exact match for the shade in the Tenerife Triangle Top Bikini from Ondademar. Priti Eco Nail Polish in "Ruby Giant" will bring out the vibrant purple in this artistic bikini.

Luli Fama Club Tropicana Halter Bikini is full-on-sexy and needs a feminine, sexy nail color to compliment it. A classic, red nail color like Deborah Lippmann's "It's Raining Men" is ultra feminine and will match the contrast stitching on the wavey side top and bottom.

With simple, sexy black swimsuit or cover-up you can rock a more avant-garde nail color like this limited edition color "Periot" from Chanel. Pair it with Cia Maritima's Solid Black Halter Wrap Dress
for a sexy fashionable beach look.

The Great Cover-up

Cover-ups are beach fashion's unsung hero. They conceal all the right places and give just a hint at what is below. The right cover-up can carry you from street to beach in style.  We are super excited about the cover-ups designers are coming out with this season. Here are a few favorites:

1. LSpace Ave Poncho
Ponchos back with a bang, they were all over the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 runways at shows like Alexander Wang. We love how LSpace has brought this trend into beachwear. The fringe along the hem and sleeves adds another stylish element to this design. We might even try wearing this one off the beach.

2.  LSpace Camila Dress -
This beautiful maxi cover-up makes us swoon. The ling slit down the middle creates a long line that is slimming and very glamorous. What's even better is that it is done in a bright, girly floral, bringing a fresh energy to this sexy beach casual.

3. Pily Q Love You Dress
This is hands-down the perfect baby doll cover-up. It is so lovely in person with lots of pretty details in the fabric and construction that make the quality show through. It comes in black and white and is lined so it can easily be worn as a dress too.

Cotton eyelet cover-ups are always feminine and comfy to slip on. The Renaiscence cover-up comes in this right teal shade and crisp white. The focal point is the zig-zag lace hemline.

You don't need to bare it all to transmit sex appeal. This flowy blue tunic is a sheer fabric will leave you feeling wrapped in glamour. We can bet that this will look great on a range of body types too.

One is never enough get a cover-up for every occasion. See our new 2012 cover-ups from brands like Despi, LSpace, PilyQ and more here.

Beach Beauty Tips from Celebrity Makeup Artist Lonz

AWB keeps you stocked with all of the fashionable swimwear, cover-ups and accessories you need to make the maximum impact on the beach. Being fashion obsessed, naturally we are makeup lovers. We are always looking for new tips to keep us on trend. So this weekend we consulted the expertise of Loni Jones, known as Lonz, a talented NARS makeup artist who has done makeup for fashion and television in Jamaica and Grand Cayman. She was lead makeup artist at Caribbean Fashion week 2007 – 2009, works with Ocean Style TV and has groomed and beautified celebrities including: M.I.A., Sean Paul, Tanya Stevens, Tami Chin, Yendi Phillips, Marcia Griffiths, Etana, Brick and Lace, Jovi Rockwell, and Timeka.

Loni Jones MUA

We asked her for her thoughts on beach beauty….

AWB - There are many women who will not wear makeup to the beach. I like to wear a little something. What is your opinion on makeup at the beach?

Lonz - Nothing's wrong with wearing a bit of makeup to the beach! The amount worn also depends on the occasion. So lets say it’s a beach party that starts in the evening, then by all means look glamorous. But if it’s a regular day and your intention is to get a little tan going and chill, minus the boy scoping, then keep it minimal.

AWB - What are 5 key products for beach beauty?

Lonz - SPF, lip-balm, bronzer, waterproof mascara and waterproof liner

Sephora Flashy Liner Waterproof
AWB - What about after a day at the beach? Say someone is going out to a dinner or party after having spent some time at the beach and they are looking beautifully bronzed. Are there any ways to enhance and compliment a sun-kissed look?

Lonz - Using a self-tanner is one way. Also using products that illuminate the skin.

Clarins Paris After Sun Moisturizer Self-Tanning
Nars Multiple in Malaysia

AWB - One fabulous thing about the Caribbean is the frequency of the beach parties! Do you have any tips for people on what to do to prep for a beach party the night before before?

Lonz - Waxing is a must if you plan to expose your bikini line or legs...hairy legs are so 1990! But to prep, I’d suggest drinking a lot of water to hydrate the body and skin.

AWB – Jamaica’s Heroes' Weekend recently past, did you see any cool beach party makeup looks over the weekend?

Lonz - Yes. I saw a girl who did a light and simple purple smoky eye with bronzed cheeks and lots of mascara.

AWB - Anything else you think should be added about beach beauty?

Lonz - Beach beauty is fun and sexy. It doesn't have to be over the top or excessive...

Beach Essentials Part II

After you score the perfect cover-up from one of our fabulous designers, feel free to accessorize as much or as little as you want. Although we are more laid back and strictly stick to our flip flops and shades, I’m seeing more and more fedoras and jewelry on the beach. Whether you like a floppy hat or something smaller, it’s definitely super practical and also very stylish you can protect your precious skin while looking chic!
Even though we opt for minimal accessories on the beach, it’s always smart to keep a cool bangle or long necklace handy with the right cover-up, you can easily take your beach babe self off the beach and somewhere casual and an accessory can really add some extra oomph! If you are in to accessorizing while you take the sun, remember gold tones look best in the sun. We also think you should keep it simple and stick to one or two statement pieces don’t forget, you are on the beach after all!

Beach Essentials Part I

When it comes to hitting the beach or pool, we like to consider ourselves seasoned pros at All Wet Beachwear! We have perfected our personal beach babe styles and can efficiently pack a beach bag in mere minutes for ourselves or our clients. With summer winding down in certain parts of the world, this is the last chance you’re going to get to soak up the sun! So while you may have already stocked up on the perfect bikini and a roomy beach bag, you’re still lacking major essentials like a cover-up, shades, and sandals! Even if you’re a no muss no fuss type of gal, you obviously still need flip flops, right?
We personally think the most important accessory is the cover-up; you can easily feel super chic even if you’re barefoot without any makeup on! One of our go-to beach tips is keeping a summer scarf in our beach bags if we decide to go for a quick stroll and don’t want to throw on my cover-up just tie the scarf around your waist like a sarong! When it comes to cover-ups, fun prints and over-sized shirts seem to be really popular this season, and don’t fret about mixing patterns it’s one of the hottest trends, especially on the beach (just make sure the colors compliment each other). If you want to accentuate your waist, simply add a rope belt that you can tie on. Since it’s a cover-up, you can go for a low neckline or opt for something super revealing, as long as you’re comfortable!

Kids Swimwear Can Be Stylish Too

School is back in session but that doesn’t mean the summer has to end.  For those who live in states with seasons there are still several weeks left of warm afternoons. For those living in sunny states, like Florida, California, Texas and Nevada, weekend getaways to the beach can happen all year long.

As you already know, All Wet Beachwear has some of the best designer swimwear for mom. But, did you know we also carry top notch designer swimwear for your kids too!?! Teach your daughters how to keep stylish by getting them the best swimwear and of course accessories too!

One of our favorites is the Jemima P Girls Maillot 1-Piece featuring yellow ducks on blue! The suit is absolutely adorable and perfect for kids who love to play in the sand.

Ducks not your daughters favorite pattern? Try the Cherry Pie 1-Piece or 2-Piece featuring blue with cherries! Both the 1-Piece and Bikini are fun, comfortable and of course very stylish.

For your families winter vacation be sure to pack your daughter our gorgeous Snow Maillot 1-Piece featuring blue with white snow pattern! And, to make this already fabulous suit even better match it with the Snow Cotton Cover-up for girls featuring blue with white embroidery!
