It Girl Alert: Kendall Jenner

She used to be known simply as one of the younger sisters of Kim Kardashian. As of late, however, she has stepped out of the Kim shaped shadow and into the spotlight on her own. Kendall Jenner or just Kendall as she is going by now is garnering major attention in the fashion world. Whether you love her or hate her she is proving to be a force to be reckoned with. While rumors circulate that Kendall might be having a difficult time fitting in with her model peers it certainly seems that she has won over the hearts of some of the biggest names in fashion.

Not only has she been the face of brands such as Givenchy and Agua Bendita but more recently she has been spotted stomping down the runway in nearly every major show during New York, Paris and Milan fashion weeks. She has walked for Diane Von Furstenberg, Dolce & Gabbana, Balmain, Chanel, and Fendi just to name a few.

She is certainly proving that she is more than just part of the reality tv family and is carving out a place for herself in the fashion world. From the looks of it she doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon.

Are You Red Carpet Ready?

While watching our favorite celebrities constantly being photographed on the red carpet it's hard not to be inspired by the amazing styles they wear. We decided to take our top 3 red carpet must haves and use them as our inspiration in selecting 3 sand carpet ready suits that are equally worth a strut down the runway.

'Orange is the New Black' star Taylor Schilling stuns in a long sleeve black and gold sequined striped dress by Sachin & Babi. Although she has clearly proven that she can look amazing even in an orange jumpsuit, the stunning dress has inspired us to find a suit that is equally show stopping. This sheer one piece is a slinky and sexy crochet over a metallic gold. Is your suit close up ready?

Kerry Washington looks absolutely scandalous in this Alexander McQueen green dress. The PilyQ mint green bikini takes all of our favortie parts of this dress and makes it beach time ready. I don't know what I'm more excited about, this fun and sexy bikini or the upcoming season premiere of 'Scandal'. I think it's a tie!

Julianne Moore is the epitome of sleek sophistication in this black and white outfit from Ralph Lauren Collection. Her effortless style inspired us to try this black and white geo print triangle bikini. If Julianne's classic chic look is for you try out this elegant bikini for a polished look even while out in the sun.

Something Lost Along The Way

This weekend I had the chance to catch up with some old friends. Due to time and geographical distances we don't get to see each other as much as we would like but we try to keep in touch and current on what is going on in each other's lives as much as possible. It's hard to believe but within the blink of an eye I realized that we have been friends for nearly 10 years. It seems like we just met and here we are 10 years later. So we finally made plans to meet up so that I can meet her new baby. We met at a little place right near the ocean to chat and reminisce about the past (the good old days if you will). So after a quick bite to eat we walked across the street to the beach. Unknown to me at the time but this was her baby's first trip to the beach. As a baby, it isn't that unrealistic to imagine that she has never seen the ocean but as someone who doesn't have children the fact that everything is a first to her never crossed my mind.
So as we approached the sand and water I was fascinated to watch her approach this unknown experience with such wonder and excitement. As she dug in the sand and watched the waves crash upon the shore her carefree attitude and complete joy at such a simple occurrence made me long for a time when I felt that way. As adults we lose this childish sense of excitement and adventure. As we spent the day building castles and just enjoying our time in the sun and sand I thought how amazing it must feel to experience the ocean for the first time. So with that thought in mind I challenge each and every one of you to try an activity you have never done before or to reacquaint yourself with something you do all the time, such as going to the beach. Look to the simple pleasures of your experience and try to view it through your inner child's eyes. How does it affect your mood, your perspective, your fun? Let us know what you did to reconnect with your youth?

How to Win: Bikini vs. Bloat

Finally the time has come and your vacation is here. You've planned, saved, and even went on a diet. All this in preparation for your trip to an exotic location where you intend to spend every minute lounging in the sun with a suitcase full of nothing but swimwear. So there is nothing more disappointing than when you wake up on a beautiful day, in a tropical setting only to find that you feel like a bloated mess. What happened? What went wrong? The fact of the matter is, you have probably brought this feeling upon yourself. Think back, think back hard if necessary. What did you eat an hour ago, 5 hours ago, yesterday? What you eat can have a positive or negative effect on how your body feels. I don't know about you but when I don't feel great the last thing I want to do is squeeze into a tiny bikini. But don't worry there's still hope. With a little planning and savvy eating you can feel your best come beach time. Here are our tips of what to steer clear of to help avoid the bloat.

Not all healthy foods are your friends right now. Healthy eating is one of the keys to staying in shape. However some of our favorite good for you foods are the same ones we want to avoid come vacation time. Keep a close eye on foods that are known to cause gas. While broccoli, cabbage, cucumbers and brussel sprouts are all amazingly nutritious and help you fit into your bikini long term, short term you may want to skip them the day before or day of to avoid any discomfort while trying to relax.
Say so long to salt. While enjoying your trip try to get your salt intake from the ocean, not from your food. Sodium heavy foods can cause you to retain water which leads to that bloated feeling that can put a damper on the best of days. No need to cut out salt entirely, just be careful not to over do it.
Skip the bubbles. We aren't talking just champagne. Anything that is carbonated creates gas which can build up in the stomach and cause bloating. For a few days it's best to say goodbye to sodas and sparkling water.

These are just a few quick tips on what to avoid before and during your trip. Never let that bloated feeling keep you from killing it in your favorite bikini. Enjoy your travels!

Totally Crazy About Totes

Pool side, beach side, or wherever life takes you, these perfect totes will keep up with your busy life. These sturdy bags are easy to carry and often double as great weekend or general luggage replacements. The sleek shape of the tote bag adds a sophisticated element to any look whether you're out having fun or on your way into work. These bags are always ready for double duty. Totes can be found in a variety of materials such as leather, nylon, or even recycled materials, which makes many of them easy to treat and care for. Besides being incredibly functional these great carryall bags are highly fashionable. Nearly every major designer has their version of the tote bag. From classic and traditional, to fun and wild there is a bag for all personalities and all occasions.

InStyle Magazine asked some of our favorite celebrities what's inside your beach bag?
Gabrielle Union told InStyle.com she has "Neutrogena's Sunblock - 100!" in her beach ready tote. Sunblock is a must have in any beach tote. "I like the spray on kind because it's easy to reapply." Gabrielle knows the importance of  keeping her perfect skin intact from the sun's harmful rays.
Jason Wu, fashion designer, told InStyle.com that he prepares his bag for the beach by packing "suntan lotion, a towel, a cell phone and five of my favorite magazines." We couldn't agree more with his essential list of must haves especially the selection of magazines. Pouring through magazines while burying our feet in the sand is our definition of a near perfect day!
Actress Jordana Brewster told InStyle.com her staples include "A towel, a ziplock bag to put an old bathing suit in, SPF 50 for her face, and water." Water is an absolute must while spending the day at the beach. It is important to rehydrate during a long day of fun. Another great tip Jordana has is ziplock bags to put your wet suit in, which will help keep all of your other items dry. Another great use for ziplock bags is to store your phone, keys, wallet, etc. It will keep them dry and sand free while floating around in your bag.

Editor's Pick: 3 Ways to Get Back On Track

I don't know about you but I had a great Labor Day weekend! I spent time with family and friends, relaxed out by the beach, and enjoyed some great food and drinks. Probably a little too much if I'm being completely honest. So with summer coming to a close it seems like no better time than now to take some much needed time to focus on recharging and cleansing from such an amazing weekend. Like all things, moderation is the key to success and since I strayed away from that concept this weekend I asked our editors for their top 3 favorite ways to stay healthy and get back on track.  Just a little help so that I can stay swimsuit ready all year round.

1.) Flavored water - We aren't talking about your regular run of the mill, store bought version. We are talking about home made flavored water infused with your favorite fresh flavors. Try watermelon mint water, it's definitely one of our favorites but try out any combination of fruits and herbs you like. Your personal preferences determine on how much flavor you want. Gently muddle watermelon and mint and add in water, ice and stir. The combinations are endless and the results are delicious, refreshing and good for you. Without all of the added sugar and flavorings from pre made drinks these homemade options will keep you hydrated and guilt free as you drink up.
2.) Walking - As the heat starts to break, you now have one less excuse to keep you from getting in your daily dose of exercise. Try as little as 30 mins a day to keep year heart healthy and not to mention your waist line.
3.) Breakfast - They always say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and they aren't lying. Starting your day off with a healthy breakfast will help provide you with fuel to get you through and keep you on track. Our personal favorite is oatmeal loaded up with all of our favorite berries. Oatmeal is a great way to stave off hunger. Is oatmeal a little bland and flavorless for you? Turn it into a tasty treat by adding fresh blueberries and strawberries and turn you morning breakfast into a meal packed full with vitamins and antioxidants.
