Top 10 Best Movie Swimsuits

Here at AWB we are constantly watching the trends and scouring the web for the latest and greatest in what is up and coming in swimwear. We are genuinely surprised by what comes stomping down the runway and the never ending imagination of their designers. It's amazing to see how one individual suit has the ability to stand out in a crowd and leave a mark on the world that lasts forever. With that thought in mind we put together our list of the top 10 best movie swimsuits which will forever have a place in history.

Raquel Welch - One Million Years B.C.
One of the most recognizable bikini images of all time would have to be Raquel Welch in her animal skin bikini in One Million Years BC. The cave man look definitely agrees with her.

Bo Derek - 10
Bo Derek stole the show in this iconic nude one piece bathing suit. This scene as well as this movie helped to seal Bo Derek into history and launch her into stardom.

Brooke Shields - The Blue Lagoon
Getting stranded on a deserted island never looked so good. Brooke Shields makes a torn and tattered bathing suit look fashionably chic.

Phoebe Cates - Fast Times at Ridgemont High
As Phoebe's character climbs from out of the pool, a fantasy was born for many a teenage boy. With her slim build and racy red bikini hearts were beating fast as this slow motion scene began. Just when adolescent boys around the world couldn't imagine anything better she proved them wrong.

Angelina Jolie - Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life
Ever the strong and sultry female, Angelina Jolie leaves us speechless in this simple yet sexy black halter bikini. This cut and style really helps to accentuate her athletic build and is the perfect choice for Lara Croft's busy ass kicking schedule.

Cameron Diaz and Demi Moore - Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle
This is one of our favorite movie scenes. Not only do they individually look amazing but the full screen shot including both of them in the frame is almost too much to take. It's hard to say who is the true scene stealer here but if we absolutely have to choose, even though we call it a tie, our vote goes to Demi. She is absolutely killing it and proves that age is just a number!

Halle Berry - James Bond: Die Another Day
As she emerged from the ocean in her itty bitty orange bikini she fully epitomized the essence of a Bond girl. Dangerous and beautiful, she is a force to be reckoned with.

Jessica Alba - Into the Blue
No one would be surprised to hear that Jessica Alba looked good in her bathing suit. But boy were we wrong. You heard us right. She didn't look good, she looked ridiculously amazing! One can only begin to wonder what her work out routine must have been like for the filming of this movie. No matter what it was it certainly paid off because with little coverage in this skimpy bottom it left very little to the imagination.
Gwyneth Paltrow - The Talented Mr. Ripley
In the Talented Mr. Ripley Gwyneth's character is relaxing in the sun in this adorable high waisted two piece bikini. With ruffled trim and a festive pattern the suit is almost as impressive as her mile long legs.

Bikini Outfit of the Day: Glamorous Gunmetal

Our bikini outfit of the day was inspired by this sultry strapless one piece from PilyQ Barcelona. Its gunmetal metallic neoprene fabric is the perfect balance of shine and sophistication. But what we love most of all about this suit is the back! We can't get enough of this sexy cross-cross strap back detailing. As if that wasn't enough the ruched bottom adds a flirty touch to this moderate cut suit.

We paired this inspirational one piece with all of our favorite silver pieces. A lightweight sweater and printed shorts are a fun and easy way to create a polished look. Pair this with some great multicolored grey studs, chrome colored sunglasses and a sleek watch. Lastly finish off the look with a great structured bag and some classic sandals.

How To: Transition Your Summer Dresses Into Your Fall Wardrobe

As the temperatures continue to drop and the seasons change, the vibrant red, yellow and orange leaves which just arrived will soon disappear. Just as the seasons transition so do our wardrobes. The time has come that we can no longer put off the inevitable and must embrace this new fall season. Depending on who you ask fall is just the precursor to winter while others enjoy it as a much needed respite from summer's heat when the air is finally cool and crisp and nature has selected new colors for our eyes to see. I definitely view fall closer to the latter. With its arrival I can finally start taking out my boots and warm, comfortable sweaters. The change in temperatures definitely requires me to pull out some of the warmer clothes I had to put away during the spring months.
While others have finished or are starting to pack up all of their favorite summer pieces, I find excitement in figuring out amazing ways to incorporate my favorite dresses throughout the season. My favorite summer dress can easily become my favorite fall dress with the addition of a jacket, scarf, and a great pair of boots. I never let the weather stop me from wearing what I love.  So this fall I urge all of you to stop packing up your summer clothes and try fun new ways to make summer last all year round!

It Girl Alert: Kendall Jenner

She used to be known simply as one of the younger sisters of Kim Kardashian. As of late, however, she has stepped out of the Kim shaped shadow and into the spotlight on her own. Kendall Jenner or just Kendall as she is going by now is garnering major attention in the fashion world. Whether you love her or hate her she is proving to be a force to be reckoned with. While rumors circulate that Kendall might be having a difficult time fitting in with her model peers it certainly seems that she has won over the hearts of some of the biggest names in fashion.

Not only has she been the face of brands such as Givenchy and Agua Bendita but more recently she has been spotted stomping down the runway in nearly every major show during New York, Paris and Milan fashion weeks. She has walked for Diane Von Furstenberg, Dolce & Gabbana, Balmain, Chanel, and Fendi just to name a few.

She is certainly proving that she is more than just part of the reality tv family and is carving out a place for herself in the fashion world. From the looks of it she doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon.

Are You Red Carpet Ready?

While watching our favorite celebrities constantly being photographed on the red carpet it's hard not to be inspired by the amazing styles they wear. We decided to take our top 3 red carpet must haves and use them as our inspiration in selecting 3 sand carpet ready suits that are equally worth a strut down the runway.

'Orange is the New Black' star Taylor Schilling stuns in a long sleeve black and gold sequined striped dress by Sachin & Babi. Although she has clearly proven that she can look amazing even in an orange jumpsuit, the stunning dress has inspired us to find a suit that is equally show stopping. This sheer one piece is a slinky and sexy crochet over a metallic gold. Is your suit close up ready?

Kerry Washington looks absolutely scandalous in this Alexander McQueen green dress. The PilyQ mint green bikini takes all of our favortie parts of this dress and makes it beach time ready. I don't know what I'm more excited about, this fun and sexy bikini or the upcoming season premiere of 'Scandal'. I think it's a tie!

Julianne Moore is the epitome of sleek sophistication in this black and white outfit from Ralph Lauren Collection. Her effortless style inspired us to try this black and white geo print triangle bikini. If Julianne's classic chic look is for you try out this elegant bikini for a polished look even while out in the sun.

Something Lost Along The Way

This weekend I had the chance to catch up with some old friends. Due to time and geographical distances we don't get to see each other as much as we would like but we try to keep in touch and current on what is going on in each other's lives as much as possible. It's hard to believe but within the blink of an eye I realized that we have been friends for nearly 10 years. It seems like we just met and here we are 10 years later. So we finally made plans to meet up so that I can meet her new baby. We met at a little place right near the ocean to chat and reminisce about the past (the good old days if you will). So after a quick bite to eat we walked across the street to the beach. Unknown to me at the time but this was her baby's first trip to the beach. As a baby, it isn't that unrealistic to imagine that she has never seen the ocean but as someone who doesn't have children the fact that everything is a first to her never crossed my mind.
So as we approached the sand and water I was fascinated to watch her approach this unknown experience with such wonder and excitement. As she dug in the sand and watched the waves crash upon the shore her carefree attitude and complete joy at such a simple occurrence made me long for a time when I felt that way. As adults we lose this childish sense of excitement and adventure. As we spent the day building castles and just enjoying our time in the sun and sand I thought how amazing it must feel to experience the ocean for the first time. So with that thought in mind I challenge each and every one of you to try an activity you have never done before or to reacquaint yourself with something you do all the time, such as going to the beach. Look to the simple pleasures of your experience and try to view it through your inner child's eyes. How does it affect your mood, your perspective, your fun? Let us know what you did to reconnect with your youth?

How to Win: Bikini vs. Bloat

Finally the time has come and your vacation is here. You've planned, saved, and even went on a diet. All this in preparation for your trip to an exotic location where you intend to spend every minute lounging in the sun with a suitcase full of nothing but swimwear. So there is nothing more disappointing than when you wake up on a beautiful day, in a tropical setting only to find that you feel like a bloated mess. What happened? What went wrong? The fact of the matter is, you have probably brought this feeling upon yourself. Think back, think back hard if necessary. What did you eat an hour ago, 5 hours ago, yesterday? What you eat can have a positive or negative effect on how your body feels. I don't know about you but when I don't feel great the last thing I want to do is squeeze into a tiny bikini. But don't worry there's still hope. With a little planning and savvy eating you can feel your best come beach time. Here are our tips of what to steer clear of to help avoid the bloat.

Not all healthy foods are your friends right now. Healthy eating is one of the keys to staying in shape. However some of our favorite good for you foods are the same ones we want to avoid come vacation time. Keep a close eye on foods that are known to cause gas. While broccoli, cabbage, cucumbers and brussel sprouts are all amazingly nutritious and help you fit into your bikini long term, short term you may want to skip them the day before or day of to avoid any discomfort while trying to relax.
Say so long to salt. While enjoying your trip try to get your salt intake from the ocean, not from your food. Sodium heavy foods can cause you to retain water which leads to that bloated feeling that can put a damper on the best of days. No need to cut out salt entirely, just be careful not to over do it.
Skip the bubbles. We aren't talking just champagne. Anything that is carbonated creates gas which can build up in the stomach and cause bloating. For a few days it's best to say goodbye to sodas and sparkling water.

These are just a few quick tips on what to avoid before and during your trip. Never let that bloated feeling keep you from killing it in your favorite bikini. Enjoy your travels!
