Agua Bendita 2013: Lovely Heros

Colombian beachwear brand Agua Bendita debuted their 2013 swimwear collection on the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Runways at the Miami Swim Shows last week. This season, the Agua Bendita designers Catalina Alvarez and Mariana Hinestroza dedicated the collection to their team of artisans who hand-make each garment. The collection was called "Lovely Heros" and it was inspired by the 700 men and women that collaborate with the two designers each season to create the innovative and ultra-embellished garments that we all love so much.

The hero inspiration is translated into cowboy, military and sailor prints and pieces. The trademark Agua Bendita beading, appliques and embroidery were all there. And to satiate our appetite for trends several pieces in the line incorporate neon and aztec prints.

Here are some of our favorite pieces from the collection:

We are very excited to carry the Agua Bendita line next season. Join our email list (use the submission form on the right side of this page or on our homepage www.allwetbeachwear.com) and we will send an announcement when this beautiful collection is in stock.

In the meantime, watch the full Agua Bendita 2013 runway show from Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Miami:

Bikini Tops as Shirts: Would you wear it?

There is a growing trend on the Polyvore styling community where fashionistas are pairing bikini tops with maxi skirts, throwing them under blazers or putting them atop high waisted shorts. Below are a few examples of their swimwear infused ensembles.

We want to know: would you wear a bikini top or one piece as part of your outfit?

Celebs like Nikki Minaj do this all the time for the stage but do you think swimwear can be incorporated into a cool look for everyday wear?

Tell us by adding a comment below!

How to organize your swim wardrobe!

Feel like you have a million swimsuits yet nothing to wear on your vacation? Staring into a mess of straps and Lycra can make anyone feel overwhelmed, especially if it has been a whole winter since you have dared to don swimwear. One of the best ways to store swimwear is in plastic resealable bags.

When you buy swimwear from All Wet Beachwear it comes in a small, clear bag. Instead of tossing it hold on to the bag and use it to organize your collection. You can also use small resealable sandwich bags. Individual plastic bags make swimwear easy to find, pack and store. It will also help prevent soft foam padding from losing shape, tangled strings from stretching your bikini bottoms, and it will keep you from losing the detachable straps for your bandeaus.

One interesting benefit you will find is that when you begin to treat your swimwear with care, you will actually appreciate it more. Your swimwear collection will become a group of bright little packages ready to unwrap and enjoy.
